Lea Michele covers the March 2014 issue of Cleo magazine

On Louder’s core message:

“I think in life, it’s so important to love as hard as you can love, to live as hard as you can live and to really live life to the fullest because we are only given one life. I feel it’s important to be bold, be brave and be strong. Live your life louder, that’s why I named [the album] that.”

On her favorite from Louder:

“My favorite song is, 100%, ‘You’re Mine.’ I listened to it the other day – it was the one song I had the most emotional reaction to, just because that’s my relationship with Cory Monteith."

On her upcoming book “Brunette Ambition”:

“I got into this business in a random sort of way, and for years I found that so many people were telling me what I could and couldn’t achieve and setting these sort of obstacles for me and limits. Eventually, I started setting them for myself because of what all these people were telling, like, that I wasn’t pretty enough or that I needed plastic surgery, and it was really about overcoming all of that and getting to where I am today. I talked a lot about harnessing your tenacity and drive, and being really ambitious! Get to where it is you want to be and what makes you happy despite whatever road blocks life might bring your way.”

On her life since “Glee” began:

“Well, a lot has happened over the past five years since I landed the role. I’ve moved from New York to Los Angeles, I went from city girl to someone drinking green juice and going on hikes every day. If I could’ve seen me now five years ago, I’d be like, ‘There is no way.’ I’ve really grown up and I have obviously been through a lot, and at this point in my life I can say I am pretty sure I can tackle anything that were to come my way. I feel very strong and I also feel incredibly loved by a great circle of people that I have around me in my life and I am very grateful for that.”
