Aubrey Plaza in Latina March 2014

On "Saturday Night Live":

"I don’t know what to say about the diversity at 'SNL.' I’m sure they would, in an ideal world, would want it to be completely balanced. But I think you have to also…It’s almost like a corporate, you have to fulfill a quota there’s something about that doesn’t really. It should just be about who is funny. But I feel like it is a shame that there aren’t any. I think there’s probably a lot of that too that they are not looking at the right places."

On her awkward interviews:

"I have a way of dealing with situations where I come off awkward, or people think I’m purposely trying to make things uncomfortable. But normally I’m talking really slowly or there’s a lot of silence because there’s just nothing going on. I’m just totally freaking out, but from the outside perspective it looks like I’m in control."

On her writing and projects:

"It’s hard not to become complacent when you’re on a TV show, because you get kind of comfortable. [But] I’m most happy when I’m creating."

On Hollywood and friendships:

"It’s really easy to get lost in Hollywood. It gets complicated when you have some success and there are people who give you attention or want something from you, filling your head up with all these crazy ideas. For me it’s really important to maintain friendships that are real friendships of people that you grew up with, or people that don’t deal with the machine, because I think that’s what happens when you come out here."
